The January Board meeting saw us say goodbye to Elected Director Kevin Smith, who leaves after completing a term of 4 years. Kevin’s change of lifestyle has meant that he is unable to commit to every Board meeting, and the Board felt that because of this, they were unable to invite Kevin back for a second and final term. However, Kevin is not lost to Rounders as he continues to volunteer his considerable expertise as Head Selector and regular umpire. Kevin will also assist the Board with specific items relating to the new competitions that will be introduced later this year.
Dr Georgina Crossman attended her first Board meeting as an Elected Director. Georgina is a self-employed PhD graduate with many years’ experience of working in the equestrian sector, in research and insight as well as event management, including Olympic and Paralympic Games. She has extensive knowledge of the Further and Higher Education sector, gained through roles in land-based colleges and universities, in addition to working for an exam board. Georgina is involved locally in rounders, as a player, umpire and coach, and believes rounders is an incredibly powerful sport, bringing together all kinds of people and enhancing their lives and communities
