Safeguarding vulnerable groups update:

Rounders England is aware of the new Safeguarding Vulnerable Groups Act (2006) and Independent Safeguarding Authority (ISA). We are aware there are some minor changes to legislation this autumn, but that the key parts of the Act relevant for sport will not have an impact until July 2010.

This gives Rounders England a full year to prepare and to provide clear guidance for members at every level of our organisation but until the Government has issued the guidance specific to the sport and leisure sector Rounders England is not in a position to make detailed plans, nor to consult in an informed way with members.

Rounders England will work closely with CCPR and other relevant organisations to plan, consult and deliver information and guidance to members in such a way that ensures our organisation and its members are fully compliant with the requirements of the Act.

In the meantime Rounders England strongly advises members to follow all Rounders England guidance on best practice in safeguarding children.

Duty of Care And Child Protection

Rounders England is committed to safeguarding the welfare of all young people playing our sport and have developed Child Protection Policy and Good Practice Guidance for our members. The NRA's Child Protection Policy and Good Practice Guide is downloadable from the Web link.  Click here to download Policies
This Child Protection Policy applies to all NRA officers, employees and volunteers who come into contact with children at any event organised by or held under the authority of and/or any other body affiliated, or representative of the NRA. As part of our commitment to best practice in the care of children, the NRA expects all of our members to comply with the policy and the regulations within it.

*For the purposes of this Child Protection Policy a child is any individual under the age of 18.
