Intermediate Umpire

About the Course:
The Intermediate Umpires course leads on from our Preliminary Umpire Award. It will prepare Learners to undertake a written test showing a high level of knowledge of the rules. The course will also give the learner practical instruction and demonstration of game control.


Facility Requirements:  
A 4 badminton court sized sports hall and classroom area are required (including facilities to use PowerPoint).


What will I learn?

Practical Field Test:

Be field tested in a match situation to confirm their:

• Ability to control the game

• Understanding and implementation of rules

• Competence to fulfill all the duties of a Rounders England Umpire

Learners to be observed both as Batters and Bowlers Umpire in an organised match.


Who can attend?
The course is suitable for Established leagues, Schools, Further and Higher Education establishments, Teachers or any interested person over 16 years of age.


Do I need to bring anything to the course?
You will need to come in sportswear. Participants will be expected to take part in the activities.

  • Simplified Rules
  • Rules of the Game and Clarification for Umpires (rule book)
  • 1 year Rounders England Membership


How long does the course last?
6 Hours & a practical field test at a later date


How much does the award cost?

  • £20.00 per Learner pack
  • £18.00 p&p of resources 

Price includes 1 year Rounders Englandmembership & and a certificate for all Learners who pass the theory test (75% pass mark) & their Practical Field Test.

£180 Tutor fee & travel expenses (£0.45 p/mile)

Please Note:
 

  • Minimum of 12 & maximum of 20 Learners per course.
  • The Course Organiser must be a member of Rounders England (any category)
