Preliminary Umpire
About the Course:
The Preliminary Umpire course is the 1st award within the Rounders England Umpiring Pathway.
The Preliminary Award is valid for 1 year. After expiry, Rounders Englandwill contact holders reminding them of the expiry date and encourage progression onto the Intermediate Umpiring Award.
Facility Requirements:
A 4 badminton court sized sports hall and classroom area are required (including facilities to use PowerPoint).
What will I learn?
The course will provide you with an introduction to umpiring and the skills to enable you to start to officiate at matches and events.
Who can attend?
All Learners must be 14+ yrs of age.
Do I need to bring anything to the course?
You will need to come in sportswear. Participants will be expected to take part in the activities.

- Certificate for Umpiring Preliminary Rounders
- 1 year Rounders England Membership
How long does the course last?
3 hours
How much does the award cost?
- £15.00 per Learner (full 3 hour course)
(Price includes 1 year Rounders England Membership)
- £18.00 p&p of resources
- £90 Tutor fee & travel expenses (£0.45 p/mile)
NOTE: Minimum of 12 & maximum of 30 Learners per course.
(if Learners only wish to undertake the test paper, the cost is £5 per Learner. Please note this does not include Rounders England membership)
