Women’s Sport Week 2017

Women’s Sport Week 2017 is an opportunity for everybody involved with playing, delivering, leading or working in sport to celebrate, raise awareness and increase the profile of women’s sport across the UK.

Monday 19th June

Burnley Leisure retains over 400 women taking part in Rounders regularly. There are a total of 27 teams, with 11 teams playing on Monday nights and 16 teams playing on Wednesday nights. After successfully securing funding from Sport England, Burnley Rounders Club are planning to take over the North West and you can read all about how they’re planning to do it HERE.

Tuesday 20th June

Ossett Rounders Club has had its fair share of highs and lows over the past couple of years but look at them now! Since April 2017, they’ve built three Rounders teams and are working on their fourth. Their ultimate vision is to establish a successful league in the area. Read their inspirational story HERE


Wednesday 21st June

The 2017 playing season is well under way and to celebrate Women’s Sport Week 2017, Wigan Back to Sport are offering FREE Rounders sessions for local women.  So, if you fancy trying something new with your friends, or you’re just looking to get active, simply come along and have a great time!
