Sport England is focused on the creation of a world-leading community sport system. They invest National Lottery and Exchequer funding in organisations and projects that will grow and sustain participation in grassroots sport and create opportunities for people to excel at their chosen sport.
Women In Sport
The vision of Women in Sport is to create a society which encourages, enables and celebrates active and healthy women and girls. Their aim is to create a nation of active women; from dancing in the living room to celebrating gold. They want to make sport and fitness an everyday part of life for women and girls.
The Active Partnerships Network
There are 49 active partnerships covering England. They are local networks of local authorities, national governing bodies, clubs, schools and school sport partnerships, primary care trusts and other local agencies committed to working together to increase participation in sport and physical activity. Sport England invests in CSPs to deliver services for national governing bodies and programmes for young people.
Sport and Recreation Alliance
The members of the Sport & Recreation Alliance are the governing bodies of sport and recreation. The Sport & Recreation Alliance represent their members’ views to people who make decisions; they promote the interests of sport and recreation so that as many people as possible know about their work; they campaign on issues affecting their members.
Sports Coach UK supports their partners to recruit, develop and retain the coaches they need to achieve their sports participation and performance goals. In England, they support 46 national governing bodies of sport and 49 active sport partnerships.
Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU)
The CPSU mission is to build the capacity of sport to safeguard children and young people in and through sport and to enable sports organisations to lead the way in keeping children safe from harm.
Sporting Equals works to actively promote greater involvement by the ethnic population across the UK in sport and a healthy active lifestyle.
StreetGames is a sports charity that changes lives and communities. They support a network of projects which give sports and volunteering opportunities to young people in disadvantaged communities across the UK.
Us Girls is a ground-breaking initiative to get 30,000 young women from disadvantaged areas more active. The initiative provides fitness and sport opportunities within their local communities. It is the public face of the Active Women Consortium, which is funded by Sport England and delivered by StreetGames.

Sports Officials UK
Sports Officials UK (SOUK) is recognised as the organisation responsible for representing and supporting officials across all sports in the UK, responsible for the training education and development of officials within their given sport.

Equality – Focus on Sport is a ‘shop window’ full of information and news to support people working to deliver sport that is open and welcoming to everyone.
