Alison Howard Chosen as Recipient of Emeritus Award

We are delighted to announce that Rounders England CEO, Alison Howard, will be receiving an Emeritus Award from the Sport and Recreation Alliance (SRA). The Emeritus Award, which has been in existence for over a decade, is awarded to an individual for their life-long or sustained service to grassroots sport and recreation. The SRA President, HRH Prince Edward The Earl of Wessex, will present the award to Alison at the SRA Annual General Meeting on the 25th September.

In recognition of this amazing achievement, we are going to Celebrate our CEO and look back on what she has contributed towards the sport of Rounders, and the wider sector, over the years.

    Below are a list of facts and figures about Alison, and her time at Rounders England, to help you get to know her better.

  • Rounders England celebrated 70 years

    In 2013, the organisation reached 70 years. With Alison steering the celebrations, the year began with Rounders England’s first national conference in Birmingham.

     

     

    The celebrations extended throughout the year and included creating merchandise to raise awareness, which delivery partners used at their events.

     

    The final home match of the season, England v Wales, was celebrated to the max, with stalls galore, entertainment from a troup of cheerleaders and the local radio station turning up to record the occasion.

    All in all, 2013 was a year to remember!

  • Beyond 30% - Women in Sport

    In 2017, Alison was asked by Women in Sport to contribute to their Beyond 30% campaign. Alison discusses why she stands for the campaign, how she thinks it has supported the sports industry, and her personal experience in a leadership role in sport.
