This 30-minute Rounders England eLearning is the Introduction to Safeguarding in Rounders and is essential training for anyone who has limited contact* with children or adults at risk. It provides basic information on what behaviour is appropriate, how to identify a safeguarding concern, how to respond, and how to access support.
This course is for everyone. It offers a general overview of how to safeguard children and adults within rounders and examines what we mean by:
- Best Practice
- Poor Practice
- Abuse
Throughout the course we talk about children and adults. Children refers to anyone aged under 18 years, adults are anyone aged 18 and over.
It is essential that everyone has at least a basic understanding of what behaviour is appropriate, how to identify poor practice or safeguarding concerns and be confident about how to respond, as well as about how to access support. This Rounders England Introduction to Safeguarding eLearning provides this.
It forms part of Rounders England’s commitment to helping everyone in rounders accept their responsibility to safeguard the welfare of children and adults at risk from harm and abuse and ensure appropriate training and education for coaches, leaders and activity providers.

This Introduction to Safeguarding eLearning is for anyone with limited contact with children or adults at risk. If you have regular contact with these groups or lead sessions, please visit UK Coaching for courses that provide such specialised training.
*Limited contact is described as those who do not lead/coach sessions but support in additional roles (e.g. parent-helper/Umpires/team-club supporting roles)
