Trials 2020
Rounders England Trials have been postponed for 2020 due to the ongoing impact of COVID-19.
We are continually reviewing the latest government guidance in relation to COVID19 and reacting accordingly at each phase. Our priority first and foremost is the safety and wellbeing of our Rounders community and this is what guides our decision making at every step and will continue to do so. However as government guidelines change please be rest assured that we will continue to do everything we can to get people playing again. We are acutely aware that everyone will be missing Rounders and, as England players, will be disappointed that you have not been able to represent your Country as yet this season, especially for those individuals who will have been experiencing this for the first time.
Below are some updates that have been determined:
2020 season – We continue to aspire to provide some competitive opportunities in 2020 for all squads. This will be dependent on government guidelines with regards to COVID-19 and social distancing and may include playing in the late summer/early Autumn. This will be planned in accordance with the lifting of restrictions – at this stage we cannot guarantee this but it remains an aspiration.
2021 season – The current 2020 squads are to remain in place for 2021 and will not be asked to re-trial. Whilst we are not planning to hold any formal trials in Autumn 2020 we may see the potential/need to add to the squads and this will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. The focus will remain on the current players having the opportunity to represent England.
