    Safeguarding & Protecting Children £40 

    This course aims to increase awareness of safeguarding and protecting children, helping coaches to recognise signs of abuse and poor practice and deal sensitively and effectively with issues that arise. It also prompts a review of coaching practice to ensure that sport provides a positive and enriching experience for children. Delegates must be 18 or over, 16 & 17 year olds can attend if chaperoned by an adult.


    4 Hour First Aid £40

    Suitable for everyone of all abilities, this 4 hour course is made up of both theory and practical work. Participants will receive printed resources and a certificate from Direct Action Training. The ‘4 Hour Emergency First Aid’ course is tailor made for sport coaches. Highly experienced tutors and small group sizes mean the course can cover topics that are specific to individual candidates and their chosen sport.


    Level 2 First Aid (QCF) £65

    This 6 hour version of the 4 hour Emergency First Aid course will cover extra topics such as concussion and unconsciousness. Like the above 4 hour first aid course, this workshop is made up of both theory and practical work. Emergency First Aid at Work (QCF) is delivered by Centres accredited by Awarding Organisations, regulated by Ofqual. Direct Action Training is an Accredited Centre. All candidates must attend the full 6-hours contact time in order to fulfil the qualification ‘license to practice’ requirement.


    How to Coach Disabled People in Sport £25

    This workshop aims to answer all commonly asked questions about disabled participants in sports and how to set up coaching sessions to suit their needs. It gives advice on how to plan a session, or make minor adjustments to the way you work to make your coaching more effective. By the end of this course you will be able to: determine how to include disabled people in sport, select appropriate coaching activities and create effective coaching environments.


    Mental Health Awareness in Sport and Physical Activity (MIND) £35 

    Mental Health Awareness in Sport and Physical Activity (MHASPA) is a 3-hour workshop designed to give you the practical tools to help you better support those of us with mental health problems to be more active. This short course is aimed at anyone working within sport and physical activity – from coaches to front-of-house staff – who would like to increase their knowledge and understanding of mental health within the context of their work. The workshop has been developed by MIND with support from sports coach UK and Sport England.


    Time to Listen £40

    This course is a new, generic version of the training which is available to all sports. It has been developed by the Child Protection in Sport Unit (CPSU) and is aimed at local safeguarding officers. During this course you’ll identify the roles and responsibilities of a club welfare office, describe how the club welfare officer contributes to a positive environment for children and young people and explain how the club welfare officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment. You’ll also have the chance to apply your learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice.


    Nutrition for Health & Player Wellbeing £20

    This workshop will present the practical application of current research in respect to nutritional science for athletic performance. You will be presented with practical information that you can put into action to help your athletes enhance their energy, sports performance, recovery, and lifelong health. You will go home with the practical tools and information you need to help athletes of all ages and athletic abilities.


    Social Media for Clubs £20

    The Social Media workshop is for any club who would like to attract new members to their club through the use of social media. It will cover the basics of using Facebook & Twitter; what an effective account says, posts and & hot to drive up engagement. It will also include information on how to use Facebook advertising to generate interest in your club & e-safety for those with children and young people.


    Consistency of Excellence – Mindfulness £20

    This workshop is a guide on how to improve focus and concentration using a variety of methods. You’ll learn how to put a mindfulness into day to day coaching without wearing a monks habit. Learn how to get extraordinary benefits from mindfulness to enhance performance. You’ll discover the hidden force that drive your potential and the why behind your actions that are sometimes called unconscious motivators.
