Rounders England CEO Announces Resignation

Rounders England’s current Chief Executive Officer, Alison Howard, will be stepping down from the post in the summer.

Alison tendered her resignation after dedicating 20 years to the national governing body. Over that period she has taken the organisation from being volunteer led to one that employs skilled individuals, all working toward the long term development and growth of the sport.

Announcing this news, Katherine Knight, Chair of Rounders England said

“Alison’s resignation as CEO of Rounders England has come after many years of personal dedication to the sport, prior to joining the National Rounders Association as its first paid employee in 1999. Her unwavering contribution has significantly shaped Rounders England and Rounders. I am delighted that she will continue to support us as we recruit a replacement and thank her for all her commitment and passion for our wonderful game.

With more people playing Rounders now, than ever before, Alison can leave Rounders England knowing that her influence has set the organisation on a path to success.”

Alison said

“After 20 years working for Rounders England, the last ten as CEO, the time has come for me to move on. I am so proud to be part of the incredible progress of Rounders England, who are now ready for the next phase and new leadership to take the organisation to a new level.

I would like to thank all the members, partners, colleagues and volunteers who have supported me and been part of the transformational journey that has put Rounders and Rounders England firmly in position as a sport and physical activity that connects people and gives them an opportunity to improve their physical and mental wellbeing. Whether you are involved for the social and fun aspects, or are motivated by team spirit and winning, Rounders is the perfect activity! It will always occupy a special place in my heart.”
