The 🌈 Rainbow Laces campaign, a global initiative that originated in the realm of sports 10 years ago, has transcended its initial boundaries and become a powerful symbol of acceptance. These colourful laces, prominently displayed on footwear, serve as a visual representation of solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community. Rounders England’s decision to endorse the Rainbow Laces movement is not merely an act of symbolism but a declaration of our commitment to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation, feels welcomed and valued.
Complementing the Rainbow Laces initiative, we are launching our Policy and Procedures for Trans & Non-binary Players in Rounders. This document underscores our commitment to creating a sport that respects and supports individuals of all gender identities. (Trans & Non Binary FAQ’s)
As the Rainbow Laces adorn the boots and trainers of rounders players in our community, and the Trans and Non-Binary Policy takes root within the sport, a cultural shift is underway. It is not just a policy; it is a promise, a commitment to creating a sport where every individual, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, can thrive.
In embracing both Rainbow Laces and our Trans and Non-Binary Policy, we strive to stay ahead of the curve and hope to set an inspiring example for others to follow. As the Rainbow Laces tighten and the policy becomes ingrained in our organisational ethos, a new era of inclusivity dawns, one step at a time, one lace at a time.
