Return To Play Good Practice & Safeguarding

Updated 16/7/2021 for 19/7/2021

Regarding further easing of restrictions in England on Monday 19th July, Rounders England have the following update in relation to the impact on Rounders.

The Government has advised that mandatory protocols are no longer required for grassroots, community sports. NGB’s should be responsible for determining what they deem to be the most suitable approach.

Rounders England has continued to monitor the situation throughout our Return to Play and is still of the opinion that Rounders continues to be a low risk sport, especially when played outdoors. These recommendations are made as responsible guidance, in order that we continue to keep those within our community as safe as possible.

Therefore, effective 19th July, we move into Stage 6 of our road map and no restrictions are mandated in order to play Rounders. However, we recommend that both our membership and non-affiliated independent groups continue to adhere to the following measures. Please note that with restrictions being lifted these are meant as guidance and are not mandatory.

Our recommendation is to CONTINUE TO:

  1. Support NHS Test and Trace by:
  • Completing a Participant Opt-in Form prior to attending activity.
  • Completing Covid check-in on the day of activity.
  • Keeping a Participant Attendance Register on the day of activity.
  1. Maintain basic hygiene precautions:
  • Disinfecting personal and team equipment as well as hands before and after activity.
  • Avoiding sharing equipment wherever possible and sanitising where unavoidable.
  • Ensuring you have a First Aid Covid kit.

Our Return To Play Guidance will remain available and will be a useful source for those teams, leagues and clubs wanting to continue to implement any of the procedures.

Email [email protected] if you have any questions in relation to the above statement.
