After an amazing 2018 season, the Morley Mavericks have officially won the Rounders in Leeds League. The Mavericks finished the season on an impressive score of 25 clenching the victory over runners up, Drighlington Dragons, who finished on a final score of 23.
Kim Richardson, team captain of the Morley Mavericks, said
“We were so happy to have won the league this year! I have captained the Mavericks for 4 years and have waited patiently for this win. I’d like to give a massive shout out to the almighty Mavericks for playing an amazing season. We only lost one game and had one draw all season which we all should be so super proud of! We have some strong personalities in the team but when it counts we work well together. During our time playing together we have become a strong Rounders family!
I’d like to thank all of the other teams in the Rounders in Leeds league for a great season! There were some really amazing teams including the ones that were new to the league. I’d also like to give a huge thank you to Rounders England, Aresson and iPROSPORTS for the opportunities given to the team throughout our Rounders sponsorship – we have loved every minute of it!
We felt amazing after winning the Rounders sponsorship and then the Rounders in Leeds League. We’re heading to a tournament next… they say good things come in threes.”
The 2018 Rounders in Leeds League ran between April to mid-August and saw 10 teams take part. The league will host a celebration evening later this month where the Mavericks will receive an engraved golden bat trophy for their victory.
Stephen Locking, Rounders in Leeds Coordinator, said
“We are always looking for new teams in Leeds. If you’re interested, please get in touch.”
